If I told you that there was a movie out there that would feature James Franco, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, and Michelle Williams, would you honestly care what the heck it was about? Or who was directing? Seriously? I doubt it. It could be a movie about chick peas and I'd pay good money to see it. Fortunately, the reality is that it's not about those nasty little crunchy peas, it's Sam Raimi's prequel, Oz the Great and Powerful.
Williams is the newest addition, and according to Variety she'll fill out the last of the witch ranks as Glinda, the good one. Mila Kunis is Theodora, the formerly good witch corrupted by her evil sister, Evanora, played by Rachel Weisz. James Franco is the slick talking illusionist who gets swept up in all the sibling rivalry.
Shooting is set to begin in July, so hopefully we'll get a chance to check this out early in 2012. For awhile there it seemed like a new Wizard of Oz
Williams can currently be seen in Kelly Reichart's western, Meek's Cutoff. She'll be starring as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, which just saw it's trailer premier at Cannes.
