I love Sarah Palin. No I'm serious. She's the greatest friend liberals have ever had because she makes the other side look like moose tippin' morons. The half-term Governor of Alaska has been an unavoidable presence ever since that cranky ol' John McCain decided to inflict her upon us during the 2008 Presidential campaign. Why does grandpa hate us so much? Since America soundly rejected him and especially her, Palin has spent the bulk of her time quitting things, playing the victim, getting her daughter plastic surgery, and generally finding any way to stay in the limelight. Despite her obvious need for celebrity and inability to answer hard hitting questions like "What do you read?", Palin remains a force in the "conservative" movement, always dangling the idea of running the presidency herself in 2012. While she hasn't made up her mind on that yet, a new documentary being released in major campaign states in June appears to be something of a kickstart to a possible Presidential run.
Deadline broke the news of the upcoming flick, titled Undefeated, which I'm assuming is a joke.....right? I guess you can't be defeated if you quit before anyone kicks your tail. The film is spearheaded by "conservative" filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon, who has managed to put together a couple of these misinformation pieces in the past, most notably In the Face of Evil
RealClearPolitics, who have already seen a cut of the 2-hour film, describe it as “a galvanizing prelude to Palin’s prospective presidential campaign—an unconventional reintroduction to the nation that she and her political team have spent months eagerly anticipating.” This is meant to be her big secret weapon, which she must sorely need to compete with that exhilerating Republican field consisting of Mitt "clip art" Romney, Rick "man on dog" Santorum, and Tim "Ambien" Pawlenty. The film's roll out will expand to a possible 100 markets, and a DVD release as well. Newsbusters will undoubtedly be handing out free copies to anyone that signs on for their paid subscription.
I hope this works for her. I sincerely do. I've commented in the past that no prospective candidate should ever be discounted. I remember reading a ton of articles from back at the time Ronald Reagan was really emerging as a superstar politician, and the thought of him as President never crossed anybody's mind. Fast forward a few years and he was hip deep in raising taxes and busting unions. With that said, Palin will NEVER be President. I don't think she could get elected dog catcher right now. But I'll damn sure seek out Undefeated if it comes anywhere near the Nation's Capital. Maybe Caribou Barbie herself will be there and I can get her to sign my bumper sticker....
