Well, they aren't hiding anybody's faces anymore. There's a new trailer out for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's animated adventure, The Adventures of Tintin, which I'm guessing is back to using the Secret of the Unicorn title? Whatever, this is the best of the trailers we've seen so far, and part of the reason is there's no holding back. Spielberg gives us a glimpse at just how globe spanning Tintin's quest is going to be, and all the myriad characters he'll run into along the way. He'll cross deserts, grand oceans, and no small amount of danger, with the aid of his doggy sidekick, Snowy. Did I mention that the motion capture animation is stunning? Just last night I commented on how we'd seen next to nothing of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows when compared to other films coming out around the same time. This is a prime example of that, with Tintin set to open a week later on December 23rd. I'm totally jacked for this now. What about you?
Combining the stories of The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure, the film depicts Tintin's (Jamie Bell) first encounter with Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and the discovery of a clue to the treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. They set out to find it with protection from a prison escapee who tried to get the treasure as well as Detectives Thompson and Thomson (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost).
