Aaron Eckhart to star in I, Frankenstein
We first learned of plans for Kevin Grevioux(Underworld) to adapt his own comic book, I, Frankenstein, for the big screen back in 2009. Grevioux's been a minor player in a number of flicks(catch him in the Soul Train scene in Charlie's Angels bracketing Luke Wilson) before coming into his own with the Underworld franchise, both writing the script and co-starring as Raze. I, Frankenstein features the classic movie monster in modern times, now known as Adam Frankenstein, and embroiled in a war between other classic creatures. Sounds pretty cool, right? Almost like a Van Helsing, only better hopefully.
So now two years since the first announcement, we finally know somebody who'll star in it. Aaron Eckhart(Battle: Los Angeles) will play Frankenstein in the film set to kick off production in January. Stuart Beattie, writer behind GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra and director of the smash Australian war film, Tomorrow, When the War Began is at the helm.
Eckhart's been pretty good at hiding his good looks in his movies before, either covering it up with a full face of hair(Erin Brockovich) or getting it half burned off(The Dark Knight). So it'll be interesting to see how he's portrayed as ol' Bolthead.
