Mad Max: Fury Road to begin shooting in March

After all the delays on George Miller's sorta sequels/sorta reboots Mad Max: Fury Road and Furiosa, I feel like this news at least deserves a few words. Miller has been keeping himself busy with penguin fluff like Happy Feet(and the upcoming sequel), while Mad Max has been on the shelf as unnatural weather conditions drastically altered the planned Australia location. Originally set to film back in 2011, it soon became clear that new location was in need. And so now it looks like that place has been decided, as the production is moving to the deserts of Namibia. Sounds delightful.

According to Tom Hardy, who will take on the role Mel Gibson made famous, filming will kick off in March. It's assumed that Charlize Theron, long attached to co-star, still has an opening in her schedule. Whether or not the rest of the rumored cast, including Teresa Palmer, Nicholas Hoult and Zoe Kravitz, can fit it in remains to be seen. I expect we'll hear more concrete casting in the coming days.

The above image is part of the convoy of apocalyptic, Twisted Metal vehicles that will be a crucial part of the film. You can see more of them by checking out our friends over at Bleeding Cool.
