For my lady friends, June 29th 2012 is the date to mark on your calanders. No, it's not the day of the final installment of The Twilight Saga, or the premier of Oprah's new show. It's the day every chiseled piece of man beef in Hollywood gets to shake his wang on the big screen in Steven Soderbegh's male stripper flick, Magic Mike.
Starring Channing Tatum and based in part on his early career as a dancer, the story centers on a veteran performer teaching the new kid(Alex Pettyfer) the ropes and how to milk as many stripper singles out of the clientele as possible. Matthew McConaughey plays Dallas, a former dancer who runs the club Xquisite. Joe Manganiello(True Blood), Matt Bomer(White Collar) and Kevin Nash make up the rest of the crew. Riley Keough, Wendi McLendon-Covey(Bridesmaids), Olivia Munn, Gabriel Iglesias, Cody Horn, and Betsy Brandt co-star.
The weird thing is that the June 29th date puts Magic Mike head-to-head with G.I. Joe: Retaliation, meaning it'll be Channing Tatum vs. Channing Tatum that weekend.
