Mark Wahlberg reteaming with 'Contraband' director for '2 Guns'

2 Guns is a film that's sorta dropped off the radar. Based on the graphic novel by Steven Grant, the premise follows a DEA agent and a naval officer investigating each other as they try to steal mob money. Originally set to be directed by David O. Russell(The Fighter) and starring Vince Vaughn, the project was knocked off course when both left. Mark Wahlberg came aboard shortly thereafter.

Universal, who are set to release the Mark Wahlberg starring flick Contraband in January, must be happy with the buzz the film has generated in the last week because they're set to reteam Wahberg and director Baltasar Kormakur to get 2 Guns back on track.

O. Russell rewrote the script originally penned by Blake Masters, and it's likely still in play.
