Trailer Time: The Divide, directed by Xavier Gens

I never saw Xavier Gens' well-regarded 2007 horror, Frontiers, in which a group of criminals are held hostage by a blood thirsty family of Nazis. I did, however, see Gens' follow-up, the video game adaptation of Hitman, which was better than it had any right to be. Now for his third film, Gens is squarely back into the horror realm with The Divide.

After NYC is destroyed in an apocalyptic event, a group of survivors hide out in the basement of a large apartment complex, hoping things die down outside. While stuck inside with no ability to escape, they all begin to slowly descend into madness. As tensions rise and each begins to break from reality even more, things get even worse when the outside "help" finally arrives.  Check out the trailer below...

This looks pretty sick, and Gens has gathered a capable cast. Michael Biehn, Lauren German, Milo Ventimiglia, Peter Stormare, Rosanna Arquette, Ashton Holmes, and Courtney B. Vance star. While nothing seems confirmed, The Divide will apparently hit theaters on January 13th.
