Trailer Time: In the Land of Blood and Honey, directed by Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie's directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, managed to find controversy fairly early on while trying to shoot in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo. Why? Word got out about a potential plot point of the Bosnian War film, in which Muslim woman is raped by a Serbian soldier but ultimately forms a relationship with him. Um, women actually raped during the war got a little peeved.
So that was then, and now the film is done and locked down for release on December 23rd, although you'd never know it considering the lack of buzz surrounding it. However after looking at this newly released first trailer, I'm inclined to think we'll be hearing a lot more about it around Oscar season The core relationship between the woman(Zana Marjanović) and the soldier(Goran Kostic), looks to be a very complicated one, with neither side seeming to understand their true feelings. The war scenes look solid, especially considering Jolie's lack of experience behind the camera. I'm kinda looking forward to this now. Check out the trailer for In the Land of Blood and Honey below...
