Trailer Time: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, starring Robert Downey Jr.
It's easy to get lost in all the big name flicks headed our way in the next couple of months: War Horse, The Adventures of Tintin, Hugo, and especially The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. But one probably has the best chance of them all for being a success, and that's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Of course it has the benefit of being a sequel to 2009's wildly popular film, and the name Robert Downey Jr. carries a lot of weight.
A new trailer has been released, and this one gives us more of a look at Jared Harris as Holmes' nemesis, Professor Moriarty. We also get a very brief glimpse at the returning Rachel McAdams as Holmes' lover, Irene Adler, although I wouldn't count on her sticking around for long. The back and forth between Holmes and Watson(Jude Law) appears to be the same as before, but what really surprised me is how much speed ramping action there is. It was a heavy part of the first film and looks to be even moreso here. We'll see how it all shakes out when A Game of Shadows opens on December 16th....
