There's no doubt that Hollywood has embraced Seth Grahame-Smith's horror mash-up novels, with both of two best selling works being brought to the big screen. But out of those, one has had a fairly easy time being adapted, while the other has run into so many roadblocks somebody must've saddled it with a pretty heavy curse. The one that's speeding towards your local theater next summer is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and as crazy as it sounds the title pretty much says it all.
Starring Benjamin Walker as our 16th President, the story presents him as having lived a secret double life. Leader of the free world by day, slayer of the undead by night. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson, Alan Tudyk, and Rufus Sewell round out the cast, with visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov(Night Watch) directing. Graham-Smith was smart enough to adapt his own script to help speed along the process, but the question is whether he'll ever be able to get Pride & Prejudice & Zombies off the ground. My gut tells me "No".
IGN has debuted the first two official posters for the film, highlighting the two very different worlds Lincoln is forced to exist in. This is one film about the presidency that definitely will NOT factor into the upcoming election when it hits theaters on June 22nd.
