While her hit psycho-thriller, Martha Marcy May Marlene, has sorta faded into the background of late, Elizabeth Olsen's star making performance in it is sure to get some love at the Oscars this year. Bank on it. Whether or not that success continues is another story, with the haunted horror remake Silent House the biggest project she's got coming up. But that may be about to change.
Variety reports that Olsen, along with Dane DeHaan(The Wettest County) and Jack Huston(John Huston's son) have joined the cast of Kill Your Darlings, a unique thriller which has been floating around for awhile but recently picked up steam when Daniel Radcliffe came aboard back in November. The story follows the Beat Generation of writers in the 1950s, focusing on Jack Kerouac, Lucien Carr, and Allen Ginsberg, with much of the plot centered on Carr's murder of David Kammerer, a longtime associate/lover.
Radcliffe is set to play Ginsberg, with Huston as Jack Kerouac, and DeHaan as Carr. Olsen will play Edie Parker, Kerouac's first wife who famously forced the writer to marry her in exchange for posting his bail when he was arrested as a material witness to the crime. Their marriage was annulled after a year, by the way. Shocker.
Jack Krokidas will be making his directorial debut, based on his own script.
