Well that didn't take long. Earlier this week we learned Robert Rodriguez was targeting an April start for Machete Kills, the sequel to 2010's hit film starring Danny Trejo as the Mexican ex-Federale with a violent dislike for authority. With the European Film Market taking place right now, a sales image from the film has been released, featuring Machete doing one of the things he does best....looking a little pissed off.
It's still unclear whether Rodriguez will be directing or if he'll pass it on to someone else and move into a producer role. The story this time has Machete working for the US government to take down a cartel leader with plans to use an outer space satellite weapon to rule the world. The film will feature yet another grindhouse style trailer promoting the potential third film in the franchise, Machete Kills Again...in Space! [Comingsoon]
