Gary Oldman is back as the bad guy in Albert Hughes' crime flick, 'Motor City'

I love Gary Oldman, and am pleased as punch to finally see the versatile actor get the Oscar recognition he's so long deserved. But that's enough of him playing the good guy, ok? He'll be the altruistic Jim Gordon later this year in The Dark Knight Rises, and while I'm sure he'll be great, to me he's at his best when playing wacky villains. He'll get his shot to do it again as part of Albert Hughes' noirish crime thriller, Motor City.

Dominic Cooper(The Devil's Double) will take on the lead role, which if reports are true only has like one line of dialogue, as a small time criminal framed and sent to prison, only to get out years later and seek revenge. Along the way he'll try to rescue the woman he loves, played by Amber Heard, who is under the influence of Oldman's crime boss character. The highly lauded script comes from Chad St. John, with filming set to begin in April.

Before The Dark Knight Rises hits in July, Oldman will be seen next on the red carpet of the Academy Awards, vying for the Best Actor award for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. [THR]
