New look at Andrew Dominik's 'Cogan's Trade', starring Brad Pitt

As hotly anticipated as Cogan's Trade is, it's amazing we've seen so little of it so far. The next film from Andrew Dominik(The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), it sees him reteaming with Brad Pitt in a star studded crime flick based on the novel by George V. Higgins.

While I wasn't the biggest fan of 'Jesse James', Dominik's debut film, Chopper, proved him to be a filmmaker of incredible promise. He helped make a star out of Eric Bana, and ever since he's had no trouble luring talent to anything he does. Cogan's Trade not only features Pitt, but Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Shepard, and rising stars Scoot McNairy and Bella Heathcoate. The film follows a hitman(played by Pitt) who investigates the robbery of a mob enforced poker game.

A Russian site(via TheFilmStage) has revealed a handful of new images from the film, which at this point doesn't have a release date set. It looked like we'd see it at the beginning of the year, but obviously that's not happening, so The Weinsteins may be trying to hold on to it for the awards season....
