At some point the question has to be asked why Dave Seville (Jason Lee) continues to put up with Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. Sure, the novelty of having a trio of talking and singing chipmunks has to be cool, but is it worth it when all they do is muck stuff up? The next Alvin and the Chipmunks film, titled The Road Chip, has the furry trio racing to stop Dave from proposing to his girlfriend. What are friends for? Why aren't these three road kill yet? Here's the synopsis:
Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City… and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.
Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney are back voicing the Chipmunks, while Bella Thorne, Josh Green, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and Tony Hale co-star. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip opens December 23rd.
