Ridley Scott kinda leaves the door open for Harrison Ford's return to 'Blade Runner'

It didn't seem to make much sense for Andrew Kosove, producer on Ridley Scott's upcoming Blade Runner follow-up, to be so concrete about certain aspects of the film. Especially considering nobody knows exactly the form it will take since there's no writer at this point. Early on it's development, Kosove made it clear the film would be a reimagining of sorts, with little chance we'd see Harrison Ford return to play replicant hunter, Deckard. When rumors started swirling recently that Ford was indeed back, Kosove leapt out of his chair to shoot the reports down rather forcefully. Now Ridley Scott is weighing in, and as expected he's leaving the door cracked.  He tells EW about the possibility of Ford returning...

Scott: "No. Don’t know yet. Don’t know yet,"  "We’re still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel. It’s an interesting conversation. I’m meeting with writers and I’ve also gone back to [original 'Blade Runner' screenwriter] Hampton Fancher and he still speaks the speak. He’s right there. I spoke with him this week. But we don’t even have a script yet."

But would he even want to have Ford return?

Scott: "I'm not sure that that's going to be a story point," he says, "so I don't know. But if it were, nothing would please me more. Honestly."

Scott also hinted at the possibility of a Prometheus sequel, which is already kindof of a prequel to his sci-fi classic, Alien. But that, like any speculation about Blade Runner, is premature at best. Hopefully this issue won't be revisited until we find out who will actually be writing it.
