Watch the compelling first 12 minutes of Sundance festival hit, 'Sound of My Voice'

Fox Searchlight is making all the right moves in hyping the release of Brit Marling's festival favorite, Sound of My Voice. Now finally with an April 27th release date(although it'll debut here in DC in May), the studio gave us a taste of what to expect by unveiling the first two minutes from the film, which had me hooked right from the beginning. Now today sees an additional ten compelling minutes of footage.

Directed by Zal Batmanglij, who co-wrote with Marling, also starring as the film's enigmatic lead, Maggie. The clip doesn't waste any time, showing a couple(Christopher Denham and Nicole Vicius) going deep cover investigating a Southern California cult. The opening sequence show's the group's strict security measures and establishes their level of secrecy, blindfolding the new recruits and putting them through the complicated but sorta comical handshake all must perform to gain acceptance. It's when Maggie makes her grand entrance, in a way nobody expects, and tells them her amazing backstory, that it becomes clear this film is going to be one wild ride. From those who saw it at Sundance last year, the story apparently goes to some rather strange places.
