Guillaume Canet's 'Blood Ties' adds Clive Owen, Zoe Saldana, Marion Cotillard, Mila Kunis, and more
Thrillers don't get much more...well, thrilling than Guillaume Canet's Tell No One, and I've been waiting to see more from the French director ever since. Unfortunately I never caught up with Little White Lies, which featured Canet's lady Marion Cotillard opposite Jean Dujardin(The Artist). In the works for a couple of years now has been Blood Ties, which features a script co-written by James Gray(We Own the Night) and takes place in the familiar realm of two brothers on opposing sides of the law.
The last I'd heard on it was when Cotillard, Zoe Saldana, and Mark Wahlberg were said to be circling roles, and now it turns out two of those are now officially aboard. THR reports that the two ladies will be joined by Clive Owen, Mila Kunis, James Caan, and Billy Crudup. Matthias Schoenaerts, currently earning rave reviews for his performance in Bullhead, has been made an offer as well. That's one hell of a powerhouse line-up.
Canet, who still juggles time between acting and directing, starred in the 2008 thriller, Les Liens Du Sang, on which Blood Ties is based. If everything falls into place, filming could begin as soon as next month.
