Good luck with that. WWE Studios plans 'Leprechaun' remake. Hornswoggle to star?

As Vince McMahon and WWE Studios make in-roads into becoming part of the mainstream, they've relied heavily on genre films to build their fan base. It started a few years ago with the mildly successful See No Evil, and will continue in a few months with No One Lives, starring WWE superstar Brodus Clay. But the biggest proof that the studio is starting to become like every other one out there? Remakes of movies best left to the dust bins of history.

Exactly one month after signing a three picture deal with 20th Century Fox, WWE has now agreed to a two film pact with Lionsgate. The first shot out of the gate will be a remake of the 1993 cult classic horror, Leprechaun. Why in the world would you revive a turd like that? The original film featured Jennifer Aniston in her first big screen role, with Warwick Davis(Willow) as a not-so jolly killer leprechaun.

The hope is to have this done and in theaters(or straight to DVD) by 2013, although no director or screenwriter has been found yet.  Ok, WWE fans, you're probably thinking what I'm thinking. Is there any way Hornswoggle doesn't end up in the lead role? You know it's coming. I mean, look at the guy...[Variety]
