Kathryn Bigelow adds Israeli actor Yoav Levy to 'Zero Dark Thirty'
The worst job on the planet had to have been as Osama Bin Laden's #2 or #3 guy. He went through them faster than a fat kid goes through Snickers bars, usually with their short-lived careers ending either behind bars or at the center of a aerial strike. Abu Faraj al-Libi served as the terrorist leader's third in command for a couple of years before getting captured in 2005. He's currently still behind held in GITMO(that's still open??), but at least he'll get to see himself in a movie...assuming he ever gets out, which ain't likely.
As Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty is currently filming(and battling protests), casting is still underway. Israeli actor Yoav Levy is the latest to join the film, taking on the Faraj al-Libi role. Levy once served as part of the Israeli army and his military expertise is probably one of the factors that led to his being brought aboard, as his film experience is mostly limited to a part in Julian Schnabel's Miral.
He joins a star-studded cast that includes Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Chris Pratt, Mark Strong, Nash Edgerton, Jennifer Ehle, Kyle Chandler, Edgar Ramirez, and Jason Clarke. Assuming there are no further delays, Zero Dark Thirty should finally open on December 19th. [YNetNews]
