Trailer Time: 'Mother's Day', starring Rebecca De Mornay and Jaime King
Shot more than three years ago and been in release date Hell ever since, Darren Lynn Bousman's remake of Mother's Day will finally see a limited run starting May 4th. Much like his previous horror, 11-11-11, nobody will see it, especially with The Avengers coming out that day. Bousman is best known as the director of three Saw movies, and Repo! The Genetic Opera. Mother's Day has him back in familiar territory, a psycho thriller starring Rebecca De Mornay as a matriarch who will do anything to protect her boys.
We got a look at an international trailer back in January of last year, but now the first official domestic one has been released. It still looks like a fairly effective thriller, and De Mornay doing her most inspired work since.....sheesh, when was the last time she did something relevant? The story follows three brothers who flee to their mother's old home after a botched robbery. Finding the place under new ownership, and a party full of guests taking place, the brothers take them hostage and then call mom for a little tender loving care. Jaime King, Matt O'Leary, Deborah Ann Woll, Patrick Fleuger, Briana Evigan, Frank Grillo, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, and A.J. Cook co-star. Check out the new trailer below...
