8-Bit teaser poster for Disney's 'Wreck-It-Ralph
Disney may have a huge hit on their hands with Wreck-It-Ralph, because let's face it, everybody loves video games. If the dwindling comic book market can become the most sought after in all of Hollywood, well people who play console games at home more than dwarfs it. So it makes sense to see more movies based on popular franchises, or paying homage to great games of the past the way Wreck-It-Ralph does.
The first teaser poster has been released, and it's a simple but effective image designed to get you hyped for some old school, 8-bit awesomeness. John C. Reilly voices the title character, a video game villain who is tired of getting his butt kicked by his heroic nemesis, Fix-It-Felix(Jack McBrayer). Wanting to prove he can be a hero, he sneaks into a first person shooter game(with a character voiced by Jane Lynch) with plans of scoring a major victory, but screws everything up and unleashes a terrible enemy that threatens the entire arcade.
Perhaps the coolest part is all the video game character cameos we may see, making this sortof like the Anchorman of game movies. Expect to see Super Mario, Q-bert, Pac-Man and others popping up when the film plunks down its quarters on November 2nd!
