Even though Iron Man and Thor are good friends in the pages of The Avengers comic book, there has and will always be a small rift between the two. It doesn't have anything to do with personalities or fighting prowess, it's about science vs. mythology. In much the same way Iron Man doesn't quite believe in the sorcery of Dr. Strange, he still finds the idea of gods walking the earth something not quite believable. Tony Stark is a man of science, and the presence of Norse gods runs counter to his very nature.
How much of that plays out on the silver screen in The Avengers is unclear, but we do know the team is going to be ripped apart by internal strife. Along those lines, a new clip has been released featuring Iron Man(Robert Downey Jr.) and Thor(Chris Hemsworth) hashing out their differences in the most violent way possible. Why they can't just hug it out like two normal dudes is anybody's guess.
Directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers is due to open on May 4th....
