With The Muppets now completely in his rear view mirror, Jason Segel has what looks like another endearing comedy on the way with The Five-Year Engagement. It helps to have the ever likable Emily Blunt opposite him, with Judd Apatow's knack for producing charming crowd pleasers. We've seen other trailers before, and the vibe I'm getting is that it's almost like a modern day When Harry Met Sally, and that is definitely a good thing.
A new red band trailer has been released for the film, which follows a couple who get engaged but can never quite make it down the aisle. Over the course of five years, something always gets in the way to slow them down, causing a hilarious strain on their relationship. This trailer highlights some of the more raunchy material, although it's still kinda tame. That's probably for the better as some of the more ridiculous stuff(like Segel in a bunny suit) doesn't seem to fit with the legitimate relationship troubles they're having. Regardless, it's good to see Jacki Weaver(Animal Kingdom), and Think Like a Man scene stealer Kevin Hart involved.
The Five-Year Engagement opened Tribeca a couple of days ago and I've heard some great things. It's on our schedule for next Tuesday, and we'll have a review up for its release on April 27th....[FunnyOrDie]
