Robert Rodriguez has always been one to stick with a small, familiar group of actors for his films. Amongst that inner circle are Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jessica Alba, who have each appeared in everything from Spy Kids to Sin City. With Machete Kills set to start gearing up in the next couple of weeks, the only one we know is confirmed to return is Trejo, as the uber-violent, text hating ex-Federale. But it will likely surprise no one to learn that Rodriguez and Alba appear likely to return as well, with BloodyDisgusting reporting talks are currently underway.
The second act of the trilogy, which Rodriguez says will end with Machete in outer space, follows the Mexican vigilante as he's hired by the government to take down an insane billionaire with plans to launch a satellite weapon into space. Alba will likely reprise her role as sexy immigrations officer, Sartana Rivera, while Rodriguez is expected to play Luz/She, a rebel fighter.
Doubtful that Rodriguez will get his wish of casting Mel Gibson(!?!) and Michelle Williams in the film, especially with production kicking off so soon. But hey, y'never know!
