Rooney Mara's crazy week continues, as she's lined up enough projects to stay busy for the next two years. Not only did she sign up for Spike Jonze's upcoming romance flick involving a Siri-like computer voice, but she also took on the lead in an adaptation of Colm Toibin's Brooklyn. And now she's adding one more, featuring two of my favorite actors and a promising young film maker.
Mara will join Ben Foster and Casey Affleck in Ain't Them Bodies Saints, from writer/director David Lowery. The 1970s era film was part of last year's Creative Producing Summit for the Sundance Institute, and follows an outlaw who escapes from prison then heads across the Texas countryside to reunite with his wife and the daughter he never met. His past starts to catch up with him during the journey, however.
That's a hell of a line-up of talent for anyone, much less someone making their feature debut. Lowery made a splash with his short film, Pioneers, which debuted at Sundance and then won the Grand Jury Award at SXSW....[Deadline]
