The original Django turns up in new 'Django Unchained' photos
The wait has been kinda unbearable, hasn't it? I know I'm not the only one who is eagerly awaiting every drop of information on Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, especially with so much of it still left up in the air. Currently filming, we're still awaiting confirmation on whether a trailer will be shown in front of Prometheus on June 8th. And more intriguingly, we still need to know whether uber stud Michael Fassbender is going to be filling one of those vacant spots on the roster. And lastly, just how controversial is this film going to be? We know it's a racially charged spaghetti Western set a couple of years before the Civil War, but how far is Tarantino going to push the envelope? The action is pretty intense if reports from out of Cannes are anything to go by.
While we wait, a handful of new images have been released, but unfortunately nothing of Samuel L. Jackson yet. Instead we get a handful of never been seen looks of Jamie Foxx as the titular freed slave; Christopher Waltz as the German dentist turned bounty hunter, King Schultz; and Leonardo DiCaprio as the evil Calvin Candie, the plantation owner holding Django's wife.
Remember back in the beginning when we thought Franco Nero, the star of Sergio Corbucci's original Django, was going to be the star of Tarantino's film? Well there he is sitting next to Jamie Foxx in one of these images. The two Djangos together, sharing a drink and a smoke. Gotta love it. Django Unchained is set to open on December 25th. I know how I'll be spending my Christmas. Check out the photos below...[CinemaTeaser via ThePlaylist]
