Three clips from 'Seeking A Friend for the End of the World'

Lorene Scafaria(Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist) has her work cut out for her with Seeking A Friend for the End of the World. The film boasts a fantastic cast in Steve Carell and Keira Knightley, but how does one exactly hype a comedy about the world's destruction? Not an easy sell. Add to it that much of the film deals with longing and loneliness, and you have a recipe for a film that could be a tonal disaster.

Fortunately, it isn't, and Scafaria does a fantastic job of mixing a number of strong emotions into a touching, life-affirming love story that finds touches of humor in unexpected places. Since the film doesn't release here until June 22nd, I can't say much more, but it's a movie I highly recommend.

Three clips have been released, and they give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. Carell plays Dodge, a regular guy whose wife runs out on him when its discovered that the world will be destroyed in a matter of days. Left alone for the first time in years, he sets out on a cross country journey with his emotionally unbalanced, played effortlessly by Knightley, to find a long lost love.  Melanie Lynskey, TJ Miller, Connie Britton, and Rob Corddry are given a bit of the spotlight in these clips, making up just a small part of the impressive ensemble.....[Yahoo/MTV]
