Trailer Time: 'The Last Ride', starring Henry Thomas and Jesse James

What is this? 'Get Hank Williams to the Greek'?  The Last Ride stars Henry Thomas(Suicide Kings) as the original bad boy of country music, Hank Williams, during the final three days of his tumultuous life. His career wrecked by drugs and alcohol, the legendary musician with the short temper is attempting a comeback, and hires a young college student(Jesse James) to drive him to what would be his final show. Of course it's a total culture clash deal, as the student somehow isn't a fan of music and has no game when it comes to women, which Williams aims to fix by takin' the poor guy honky tonkin'. Yeah I don't know what that is, either.

Henry Thomas seems miscast as the volatile Williams, and despite their being a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding the musician's final days, there doesn't appear to be any desire to go all that deep into exploring it. This looks like a rather light road trip comedy to me, which if it sticks to the facts surrounding Williams' life, it really shouldn't be. Maybe I'm wrong. The film has been bouncing around for a couple of years now, but it looks to finally be releasing on June 22nd. Harry Thomason directs, with Kaley Cuoco and Fred "the most boring man in the world" Thompson co-starring. Check out the trailer for The Last Ride below...
