*UPDATE* Chun-Li and Q-Bert appear in the 1st official image from Disney's 'Wreck-It-Ralph'

UPDATE: Three more images have emerged courtesy of USAToday(via Bleeding Cool), plus some footage from the actual Fix-It-Felix arcade game that will be popping up at various spots around the country. Honestly, the movie looks so good right now I'm thinking Disney should hand out souvenir game controllers at every 3D showing.

Over the past weekend I visited the Art of Video Games exhibit at the Smithsonian, which turned out to be a fantastic experience over all. Video games to me have always been just as much a form of storytelling as any other medium, and the beautiful worlds they take take us to as much art as any painting on a wall. Although I've had nearly every significant console system ever released, my love for gaming was sparked during the 8-bit era of the NES and my beloved Sega Master System. For this reason, I've been looking forward to Disney's video game homage, Wreck-It-Ralph, more than any other animated film this year.

We've seen posters and a few screen captures before, but this is the first official shot from the film, released before the trailer hits tomorrow. The story follows Ralph(John C. Reilly), the 600lb video game bad guy who grows tired of being overshadowed by the game's hero, Fix-It-Felix(Jack McBrayer). Tired of playing the villain, Ralph takes matters into his own hands by escaping his game and venturing through the arcade, visiting practically every video game era on a journey to prove he can be a good guy. Along the way he runs into Sgt. Calhoun(Jane Lynch), the hero of a violent 1st person shooter game. Ralph's quest takes a dire turn when he accidentally unleashes an evil that threatens Vanellope von Schweetz(Sarah Silverman) and the candy coated kart racing game she inhabits, Sugar Rush.

If that image above doesn't get the video game nerd in you excited, I don't know what else will! In that image alone not only do we get characters like Q-bert, Spyro, but also Street Fighter mainstays Chun-Li and Zangief! How cool is that? The cameo possibilities are endless, and since this is Disney, who have a tight relationship with the folks at Square Enix(thanks to the Kingdom Hearts franchise), we may see some Final Fantasy characters running around as well.  I'm stoked.

Wreck-It-Ralph opens in 3D on November 2nd. We'll have the trailer up as soon as it hits tomorrow.
