New 'Django Unchained' trailer preview
Blergh!! That's my reaction every time Entertainment Tonight has exclusive footage of pretty much anything. It's also my reaction to the annoying new trend of trailer previews. However, an exception must be made in this case, with ET having a sneak peek at the trailer for Django Unchained, which will be released tomorrow and will play in front of Prometheus this weekend. Another reason to buy yourself a ticket right now!
While it doesn't show much, we do get a first glimpse at the central trio in action: Leonardo DiCaprio munching on scenery as the evil plantation owner, Calvin Candie; Jamie Foxx as the titular freed slave on the hunt for his lady love; and Christopher Waltz as Dr. King Schultz, a German bounty hunter working alongside Django. As much fun as this preview is, I'm dying to see what Samuel L. Jackson brings to the table. We haven't seen an image of him yet, which makes me think his character might be the most showy of the bunch, which might explain why Quentin Tarantino is hiding him.
Tune in tomorrow for the full trailer, then look out for Django Unchained when it hits on Christmas Day....
