New 'Easy Money' trailer, starring Joel Kinnaman and presented by Martin Scorsese

Released as Snabba Cash back in 2010, Easy Money made some pretty big waves on the global scene, and marked director Daniel Espinosa as a filmmaker to keep a close eye on. The same could be said for the gritty crime film's star, Joel Kinnaman, and both have taken the rave reviews and turned it into opportunity here in American. Kinnaman, who currently stars on AMC's The Killing, has become a mini-heartthrob, appearing briefly in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo before landing the lead in the Robocop remake. Espinosa helped lead Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds to R-rated action glory with Safe House. Not too shabby.

So what's the logical next step? Um, how about having Martin Scorsese presenting the debut of Easy Money for American audiences? Sound like a plan?  It was barely two weeks ago we learned that Scorsese would be lending the strength of his name to the film, and in the newly released trailer it's the first thing you see. Easy Money is powerful and kinetic, and makes the strongest case for Kinnaman and Espinosa as future stars. Kinnaman plays a Stockholm taxi cab trying to pass himself off as someone of stature, and in order to keep his lifestyle going, he gets wrapped up in a nasty drug running operation. The Weinstein Company plans on releasing the film on July 11th, and since the sequel is already completed we'll likely see that here shortly thereafter. As for the American remake? Warner Brothers snagged the rights, and has already tapped Zac Efron to star.
