The last week has been so chock full of Iron Man 3 news that I hardly have the energy to talk about it anymore. Everything from Mandarin rumors, to Iron Patriot set photos, to more Chinese castmembers coming aboard, it's been one crazy whirlwind. Kind of to be expected considering it'll be the first Marvel movie out of the gate post-The Avengers, but even so it has been pretty crazy.
As principle photography on the Shane Black-directed Iron Man 3 gets underway in North Carolina, a super cool set pic has been released showing off all of the armors at Tony Stark's disposal, including my favorite silver & red armor. Nothing major to be found here, just something awesome that needed to be shared. Additional shooting will take place in Miami and China.
The press release from Marvel Studios confirms the return of Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau, but leaves out all of the new additions we've heard about since. That includes Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton, and William Sadler. Nor does it mention the international superstars who have been hovering around the project, such as Andy Lau and Fan Bingbing. Not reading anything into that, as it doesn't go into much detail on the plot, either, which we know will have kernels of Warren Ellis's Extremis storyline, which involves nanobot powered villains.
Iron Man 3 is set to open on May 3rd 2013.
