I am an admitted sucker for kid's movies, animation, and video games. That being said, I was still surprised at the ear to ear grin I realized I was wearing the entire time I was watching this trailer. The concept is genius, a video game bad guy who's not actually a bad guy and leaves his game after becoming fed up with everyone hating him for just doing his job, but the best part is that the movie uses actual video game characters as side characters.
I can't imagine the licensing headache that came with doing this but man is it a treat for those lifelong gamers like myself. The sheer joy that comes with seeing some of the most memorable bad guys together in an AA like support group would be worth the price of a ticket but something tells me that's not all we'll get. Maybe it's the A-list voice cast or the breathtaking vibrancy of the animation, but something tells me this is going to be one of the more memorable animated adventures Disney has released.
