The current season of True Blood hasn't been so hot, as there are just far too many characters to keep track of. Most of them aren't even all that interesting, but Stephen Moyer's performance as vampire Bill Compton remains as wonderfully complex as ever. Hopefully he can bring a little bit of that to Atom Egoyan's Devil's Knot, which Deadline reports Moyer has just joined.
He'll be taking the lead role of prosecutor John Fogelman in the narrative take on the true story of the West Memphis Three. The film will follow the wrongful conviction and imprisonment of Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols and Jessie Misskelley for the murder of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth, Alessandro Nivola, Amy Ryan, Mireille Enos, and many more.
In order to fit it around his True Blood filming schedule, Moyer will jump into the production immediately. Expect to see Devil's Knot hit theaters in 2013.
