Bradley Cooper to star in 'Bad Blood and Trouble'; wanted for 'A Star is Born' remake

When Bradley Cooper turns up next week as a dreadlocked ex-con in the Dax Shepard comedy, Hit and Run, people may be tempted to forget just how much of a roll he's been on. Cooper has become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, and now he's landed another promising film from a talented director, and is being considered for a major one by a screen legend.

Cooper is set to star in Bad Blood and Trouble, a crime thriller from J. Blakeson. Blakeson floored a lot of critics with his twisty crime pic, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, and is attached to direct the red hot script for the Alan Turing biopic, The Imitation Game. Bad Blood and Trouble would have Cooper as a 1950s Miami detective who falls in love with a married woman whose husband has been targeted by criminals. Filming is set to begin in 2013, which will give Cooper plenty of time to complete The Hangover Part III. He also has to join David O. Russell and Jeremy Renner for American Bullshit, so his schedule's kinda backed up. That makes it unclear if he'd even be available for what may coming down the line.

Variety says that Clint Eastwood may be looking at Cooper for the male lead in his long-delayed remake of A Star is Born. The film has been kicking around for awhile with Beyonce as the only fixture, although it was her pregnancy that caused it to be pushed back in the first place. A number of big names have been circling the role for years, from Leonardo DiCaprio to Tom Cruise, but nothing has developed. If he does agree, Cooper would play a washed-up singer who helps a young, aspiring star fulfill her dreams.

Not sure when A Star is Born is aiming to begin filming, but it's a pretty ballsy move for both Cooper and Eastwood if it happens.
