Alec Baldwin and Patrick Wilson to star in pulp adaptation of 'Caught Stealing'

I know author Charlie Huston best for his work writing the adventures of schizophrenic Marvel superhero, Moon Knight, who I hope will get his own flick some day. He'd make for a heck of an Avenger. But to most others, Huston is recognized for his writing of pulpy crime novels, in particular his popular Henry "Hank" Thompson trilogy. For those folks it's going to be a happy day indeed, as news out of Toronto has the first book headed to the big screen with a heck of a cast already on board.

THR reports that Alec Baldwin and Patrick Wilson are set to star in Caught Stealing, an adaptation of Huston's novel and adapted for the screen by David Hayter(X2: X-men United). Wilson will take on the role of Thompson, a former California baseball player now an alcoholic bartender in Manhattan. Things start to get hairy when a neighbor gives him a cat to take care of that draws the attention of Russian mobsters, a pair of crazy cowboys, and an insane corrupt cop played by Baldwin.

Hayter and Wilson will be amongst the film's producers, and the search for a director is underway. Although Wilson's had his hand in some pretty big movies, such as Watchmen and Prometheus, this would be his first stab at leading his own franchise.
