Feel the drumbeat in this new trailer for 'On the Road'

After a nearly thirty year wait to see Jack Kerouac's On the Road hit the big screen, it seems like the marketing push has been going on for just as long. We've seen numerous trailers, clips, and nearly a dozen posters for the film already, and we've still three months before it hits theaters. After a lukewarm reception at Cannes, Walter Salles' adaptation speeds into Toronto with a trimmed down cut, to hopefully fix some of the momentum problems that critics have identified as the film's biggest drawback.

Whether this newly released trailer reflects any of those edits, it's certainly the most upbeat and lively piece we've seen so far. Backed by an energetic drumbeat and Kerouac's prophetic words imploring us to "burn burn burn", the film follows writer Sal Paradise(Sam Riley), Dean Moriarty(Garrett Hedlund), and his wife Marylou(Kristen Stewart) as they set out on a cross-country journey of self discovery.  Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, Elisabeth  Moss, Terrence Howard, Amy Adams, Tom Sturridge, Steve Buscemi, and Alice Braga make for an incredible cast. The trailer captures the spirit of Kerouac's novel, but we'll have to wait until December 21st to see how it plays out in full. Check out the trailer for On the Road below....
