Jessica Chastain is one of the finest, most prolific actresses working today, and she's immediately identified not only by her amazing talent but also by her flowing crimson hair. You can see her right now in theaters, more luminous than ever, in John Hillcoat's Lawless. But fans of hers may get knocked on their rear ends when they catch a glimpse of her in Mama, the supernatural thriller from director Andres Muschietti.
Not only is Chastain's hair a shade of jet black, but the trailer looks bad enough that not even she can help it along. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro and co-starring Game of Thrones' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the story follows two girls who escaped into the woods after something evil murdered their mother. Years later they discover that whatever it was may still be haunting them. Del Toro rarely puts his name on anything he doesn't believe in, and the same goes for Chastain. Still, this looks pretty terrible and could be the exception to the rule. We'll find out when Mama hits theaters next year on January 18th.....
