The lucky folks at the Alama Drafthouse Ritz in Austin, TX are going to get a special screening of The Master on Monday night. Of course it'll be presented in 70mm just as Paul Thomas Anderson would like you to see it, and in order to get the people hyped up for it, he took the liberty of cutting this new NSFW clip especially for them.
The scene features Joaquin Phoenix as drifter Freddie Quell engaged in a Rorschach ink blot test that reveals quite a bit about his deviant mind. How much this facet of his personality will play into the rest of the story is unclear, but I'm guessing it turns out to be a large part of the inspiration for Lancaster Dodd(Philip Seymour Hoffman), the religious leader who takes Quell under his wing.
The Master opens in limited release on September 14th before going wide the following week....
