New trailer for animated 'Dorothy of Oz'

The Wizard of Oz is a classic that will never cease to be popular, but Hollywood seems to have found a whole new appreciation for it lately. Or better yet they've discovered it's a good property to keep wringing money from. With Sam Raimi's promising Oz the Great and Powerful coming up next year, another film set in Frank L. Baum's magical land will be arriving as well.

Summertime Entertainment has released a teaser trailer for the animated feature, Dorothy of Oz. The film has Dorothy(voiced by Glee's Lea Michele) returning back to Oz to help find her missing friends, The Scarecrow, the cowardly Lion, and the Tin Man. It looks like a number of new characters are going to be introduced into the mythos as well, expanding on the story we all know and love.  Directed by Dan St. Pierre, the film also boasts the voice talent of Kelsey Grammar, Martin Short, Dan Akroyd, Hugh Dancy, Bernadette Peters, Patrick Stewart, and more.

There's no release date set but you can expect to see Dorothy of Oz hit theaters in 2D and 3D some time next year.....
