Just in case The Expendables 2 didn't provide quite enough geriatric movie hero action, you've got one more chance with Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning. To be fair, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, and Scott Adkins all looked great over the summer, and I think people are going to be surprised by just how good this Universal Soldier films looks, and is the first to get a domestic theatrical release since 1999's Universal Soldier: The Return.
The first trailer for the film has been released, just a few hours after we got the latest poster, and it's a definite improvement over 2009's Universal Soldier: Regeneration, which I think was better than people gave it credit for. Adkins stars as a man recently awakened from a coma, who hunts down UniSol Luc Deveraux(Van Damme) because he believes him to be the man that murdered his family. I still feel like there are better stories to be told with the Universal Soldier premise, but for decent sci-fi beat 'em up action you can do far worse.
