Lacey Chabert, Michael Madsen, and Clare Kramer join horror 'The Lost Tree'

If this were the late 90's, a cast that included Michael Madsen(Reservoir Dogs), Clare Kramer(Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Lacey Chabert(Party of Five), and Thomas Ian Nichols(American Pie) would be pretty hot. Now it just means a low budget indie film is on the way, but that doesn't mean it can't be something worth looking forward to.

The four, along with Scott Grimes(Robin Hood), have joined the horror drama The Lost Tree, from writer/director Brian A. Metcalf(Fading of the Cries). Nichols will play a guilt-ridden man named Noah, who in the aftermath of his wife's(Kramer) death, heads to a cabin for isolation and peace but learns his surroundings are dangerous. Madsen will play Noah's father, with Chabert as Noah's best friend and co-worker, and Grimes as a real estate agent.

Of all of these folks I'm most interested in Kramer, who co-starred with Nichols in The Rules of Attraction awhile back. Doesn't sound like she'll have much of a role here, but I'll take any chance to see her on the big screen again. Madsen is expected to return for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, while Chabert is set to star later this year in the indie rom-com Slightly Single in L.A. Production on The Lost Tree begins next month.
