New international trailer for 'The Impossible' starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor
A couple of months ago it was starting to look like J.A. Bayona(The Orphanage) had a sleeper awards contender on his hands with The Impossible, his new film chronicling one family's attempt to survive the 2004 tsunami that rocked southeast Asia. That talk has died down a little as the film has unspooled at various festivals, although buzz remains strong, particularly in the special effects department and the way Bayona depicted the savagery of the tsunami's assault.
A new international trailer has been released, and like all the previous ones, it's a nice mix of human drama and devastating imagery. Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor look strong as the parents trying to reunite after the disaster, although I can definitely see the potential for it to be a little overwrought and melodramatic.
The Impossible opens on December 21st. Check out the trailer below....[Yahoo! UK]
