We're only a couple of weeks away until Silent Hill: Revelation 3D makes a bid for your Halloween horror movie dollars, and it feels like the film has been forgotten. Certainly it doesn't have the buzz of Paranormal Activity 4 or even this week's Sinister. As the sequel to 2006's well-received Silent Hill, it occupies an unfortunate place on the genre landscape. It's neither fresh enough to be considered a hot new property, nor established enough to be a tentpole fall season hit.
It's a shame, really, because the marketing for the film has been pretty good, even if released footage doesn't quite measure up. Continuing that trend is this awesome newly released motion poster with the infamous Pyramid Head slashing his way into our souls, followed by a rather ominous giant clown face. Very cool.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on the hit survival horror video game franchise, and brings back many of the stars of the first film. Adelaide Clemens plays a teenaged Heather Mason, who on the eve of her 18th birthday begins having terrible nightmares. On the run with her father(Sean Bean) for years, she must come to grips with her dark secret when mysteriously disappears and she's lured into the Hellish world known as Silent Hill.
Directed by Michael J. Bassett, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D opens on October 26th, co-starring Carrie-Anne Moss, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, and Malcolm McDowell. Check out the motion poster below....[Yahoo!]
