'The Marine 4' to star a WWE Diva?
There have only been a handful of WWE Studios films to turn a profit, and two of those are The Marine and The Marine 2. The first film starred WWE posterboy John Cena, while the sequel was a misguided attempt to make Ted Dibiase Jr. more than the invisible presence he turned out to be. The Marine: Homefront was completed recently with Mike "The Miz" Mizanin in the lead, and while that film is due out next spring, the studio is already looking towards doing something different for the next one.
Recently, the uber-hot WWE Diva Eve Torres spoke to With Leather and hinted at the possibility of WWE Studios letting one of their lovely ladies star in a future project....
Torres: "You look at the guys who have made movies through WWE, it's really helped them as performers. I'd just really love that as well. I love acting and I love developing these characters, finding out who they are and committing to them. I'd love more experience with that. Hopefully, one of these days, WWE will put a Diva in a film. Eve Torres for The Marine 4."
Turns out there may have been a reason why she mentioned that film specifically, as PWInsider says they are indeed considering Torres to take over The Marine franchise, making her the first Diva to star in a WWE Studios feature. She's arguably the best performer in the division, but she doesn't have much in the way of Hollywood acting experience. Of course, acting has never been much of a concern before so she'd fit right in.
Seriously, Torres is not only ridiculously smokin' gorgeous, but she's tough and would send the franchise in a different direction. I think it's a brilliant idea for a company that has frequently put a priority on appealing to their female audience. And hey, she recently won that Stars Earn Stripes reality show thing on TV, so we know she can definitely handle a weapon if need be.
