How awesome is that title, S-VHS? In case you haven't figured it out, that's the title for the sequel to V/H/S, the horror anthology that had a lot of buzz coming off the festival circuit, but kind of petered out once it was actually released. S-VHS was short for Super VHS, which was the improved version of the video cassette recorder. I had one, and it was still pretty terrible, but it seemed like futuristic stuff back then.
The first official image from S-VHS has been revealed, and it's as bloody and gory as one might expect. Not sure who that guy is standing in his Underoos drenched in blood, but he looks awfully chipper. The directors include Gareth Evans, Jason Eisner, Adam Wingard, Eduardo Sanchez, Timo Tjahjanto, and Simon Barrett making his feature debut. No word on a release date but you can probably expect to see this hit a few festivals next year. [Twitch]
