New posters for 'Stoker', 'Charles Swan III', and 'Beautiful Creatures'

Today sees the release of new one-sheets for two movies I'm pretty hyped up over, and one that simply isn't doing anything for me. The first is Park Chan-Wook's Stoker, which through two excellent trailers comes off as a dark, twisted soap opera. The latest poster features Mia Wasikowska, who stars as India, an eccentric girl dealing with the arrival of her mysterious uncle(Matthew Goode) in the wake of her father's death. Soon after, people in the neighborhood begin to disappear, and her uncle seems to be plotting something foul with her mother(Nicole Kidman). Stoker arrives next year on March 1st 2013.

I've been trying to get excited for Roman Coppola's Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, but so far haven't found much success. His first film since 2001's CQ, Coppola is targeting a similarly retro vibe to go along with his crazy cast of Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza, and Patricia Arquette. That style is front and center in these five vintage posters for the film, which follows a rich and famous graphic designer(Sheen) whose life hits a downward spiral when his girlfriend leaves him. CQ had a lot of style, but not much else going for it, and I'm getting a similar impression about 'Charles Swan'. We'll see when the film opens on February 8th. [IMPA]

And finally, a new banner highlights Alice Englert as Lena Duchannes in Beautiful Creatures, the upcoming adaptation of the popular young adult book by Kami Garcia. The image continues the magical gothic look developed by director Richard LaGravanese, which should separate it from the dull tones of the Twilight flicks. The story centers on two star-crossed young lovers who are drawn together and bonded through dark secrets about their families. Starring Emmy Rossum, Emma Thompson, Viola Davis, Jeremy Irons, Thomas Mann, and Alden Ehrenreich, Beautiful Creatures opens on February 13th.
