Hailee Steinfeld joins Kevin Costner in McG's untitled thriller
After making her mark in the Coen Brothers' True Grit, Hailee Steinfeld has been extraordinarily picky about how she would follow it up. It took awhile, but eventually we saw her join the promising music world drama Can a Song Save Your Life?, an adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, and taking on a blockbuster in Ender's Game. But all that pickiness has been thrown out the window because she just signed up for a friggin' McG film.
Back in October we learned that Kevin Costner would star in an untitled action film produced by Luc Besson and directed by McG, with the story centering on a Secret Service agent who is dying and decided to retire in order to reconcile with his daughter(Steinfeld). But when the government comes to him with a way to possibly cure his disease in exchange for one final mission, he takes it on and must deal with its hallucinatory side effects. Written by Besson and Adi Hasak, it originally went under the title of Three Days to Kill.
McG doesn't do squat for me, but Costner/Steinfeld/Besson are enough to get me at least a little bit interested. No word when this will shoot but it doesn't sound like it'll be too long from now. [Deadline]
